EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS MUNICH 2022: RHYTHMIC GYMNASTICS (AUGUST 11-14, 2022)

The 34th edition of the European Championships in women’s apparatus gymnastics will take place from August 11 to 14 and the 35th edition for men a week later from August 18 to 21, both as part of the multi-sport event 2022 in Munich.nine sports in one location, that’s the European Championships. After 2018 in Glasgow and Berlin, the multi-sport event will take place for the second time in this form in Munich in August 2022. From August 11 to 21, 2022, the best athletes will compete for the coveted medals in beach volleyball, canoe racing, climbing, athletics, cycling, rowing, table tennis, triathlon and, last but not least, artistic gymnastics.

50 years after the 1972 Summer Olympics, the European Championships will be the biggest sporting event to be held in the Bavarian capital, with the Olympic Park as its centerpiece.

A total of 574 apparatus gymnasts from over 30 countries will compete in the Olympic Hall in Munich, the venue of the 1972 Summer Olympics, where the quota places for the upcoming World Championships in Liverpool, Great Britain (October 29 to November 6) will be awarded.

Apparatus gymnastics stars to keep an eye on: Europe’s best gymnasts will compete for glory in the team, all-around and apparatus events. Tokyo 2020 team bronze medalists Jennifer and Jessica Gadirova and Alice Kinsella lead a strong British team that includes 2019 world champion on parallel bars Joe Fraser. 2021 world champions Asia D’Amato and Nicola Bartolini lead the Italian team, as does three-time Youth Olympic gold medalist Giorgia Villa. Israeli Olympic floor champion Artem Dolgopyat and Ireland’s 2018 European pommel horse champion Rhys McClenaghan are other stars of the tournament, which will also see German Olympic and world champion Marcel Nguyen compete for the last time in his career.
