{"id":3662,"date":"2018-07-30T12:25:40","date_gmt":"2018-07-30T12:25:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/demo.themeisle.com\/hestia-lawyers\/?p=3662"},"modified":"2024-12-20T23:22:22","modified_gmt":"2024-12-20T23:22:22","slug":"gdpr-regulation-for-everyone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/regiearbeit.de\/?p=3662","title":{"rendered":"3 World Equestrian Games 2006\/2010\/2014 and CHIO Aachen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe title=\"WEG 2014 Highlights\" width=\"750\" height=\"422\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/UsGDsHxjuSk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thinker, Dreamer, Innovator<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thomas Strobl is Number 1 among the German Sport Directors<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By Niels Knippertz<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Thomas Strobl works like a field commander marshalling his troops.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>One moment he appears to be completely calm and then suddenly he is gesturing wildly, directing from left to right and back.<span>\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>A cuss word here and an encouragement there escapes as he gives succinct directions, reaches into the bag of liquorice, and then falls back relaxed.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Strobl sits in front of a mountain of monitors and makes instantaneous decisions.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>He is the screen master, the image king.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>The 42 year old from Austria is the most sought after director of sport programming in Europe.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>He was responsible for producing the World Equestrian Games in 2006 and the Aachen CHIO 2007 for the public broadcasters.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Strobl is at once both driven and consumed by pictures.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>They form his reality.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>They are his means of communication.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>He lives and strives for the perfect portrayal, to capture the decisive moment, or the unexpected perspective.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Strobl goes far beyond the snapshot.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>He has achieved that which many before him have but attempted:<span>\u00a0 <\/span>to portray the unique allure of equestrian sports through television.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>To capture the beauty of the synergy between human and horse, to clearly portray the dynamism, athleticism and energy of the sport is what impels Strobl.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Whether in a car or a plane, there is seldom a moment when his thoughts are not assessing and developing new ideas, retaining some and discarding others.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>He immerses himself in this new world.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If the picture is the language, equestrian sports on TV were for Strobl a foreign language.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>He first approached the subject carefully as he knew very little to say about presenting horses.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Perhaps better so &#8211; otherwise he feared, as an expert, he might drown in his own soup.<span>\u00a0<\/span>He prefers the view from the outside, to approach and carefully analyze the sport in its detail.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Slowly he begins to comprehend what is important, how he should portray the horse and rider, the course, and the spectators.<span>\u00a0<\/span>He develops his concept, \u201cfrom the inside out\u201d as he calls it.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Suddenly the viewer receives a perspective as never before seen.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>The camera, a highly modern spider-cam, flies with and allows the TV viewer to experience the ride from the athlete\u2019s perspective.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Strobl must sell his new approach.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>In a traditional sport, revolutionary ideas are not always easily accepted.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>His ideas are well received.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>He convinced both the powers that be and the viewers. At CHIO Aachen 2007 he received the \u201cSilver Horse\u201d award for his direction.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>His euphoria is infectious.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>He achieved success with tact, not with a heavy hand.<span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Early on in his life, he learned to assert himself.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>At 15 he left his parents\u2019 home in Schladming.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>He was driven by curiosity.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>As he once said, he wanted to know what was on the other side of the mountain.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>He found out a long time ago.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>He has lived in Oberbayern for the past 20 years.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>He found a home there with his wife Bonny and daughter Katharina.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>As a teenager he went into an apprenticeship program with the railroad in Linz to be trained as a mechanic.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Six years later he quit.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>He knew that he didn\u2019t want to spend the rest of his life with the railroad.<span>\u00a0<\/span>He later landed in Vienna and became the assistant to the economist Dr. Helmut Martin Moser.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>This opened the door to the academic life.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Strobl learned shorthand and English.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>He got his Abitur and moved to Salzburg to study journalism, philosophy and education.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Thomas Strobl is still a thinker, dreamer and innovator <span>\u00a0<\/span><span>\u00a0<\/span>Philosophy interests him more than anything else.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>After graduation Strobl tried his luck as a gastronome, even in this endeavour he developed a revolutionary concept.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>His business was a combination of cocktail bar, restaurant, and television studio.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>When he sold it, he finally turned toward a career in television.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>He put up posters, worked as a cable man, moved up to technician and mixer, and for the past ten years has been an independent producer.<span>\u00a0<\/span>Strobl has long been number one sport director for Steffen Simon, the boss of the \u201cSportschau\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Strobl has received many compliments in recent months.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Although he enjoys the recognition, he is not one to rest on his laurels but looks to the future.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Always the optimist, he knows that he can rely on a good team.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>Some traditionalists may be startled listening to Strobl thinking out loud.
